INTRODUCTION
The course begins with vehicle drivetrain road load analysis under different drive cycles and target performance requirements. Participants will be exposed to usage of a common platform, Ms Excel in advanced modelling of the vehicle power and energy pathways with reference to modeling equations and look up tables of components and subsystems data, if available. Forward looking model and optimizations of control algorithm to achieve best performance and energy management in Matlab Simulink environment. Applications of the modeling techniques in this course are applicable to all industries which requires modelling and optimization of a system under dynamic loads.

Ir Dr Mark Ovinis is a Senior Lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. He received his PhD from Loughborough University, UK. He earned his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, MY. He is a graduate member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. He is also a reviewer for many conferences and journals and has published more than 50 publications, which includes conference proceedings and indexed journals. He has secured several research national and international grants, as well as graduated 3 PhD students. His current research area is in underwater vehicles and machine vision. He has 10 years experience in Matlab Simulink forward looking model development, engineering systems optimizations and battery management system.
