CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

The course is designed for beginners who will be involved in or at the beginning of involvement in data warehouses, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, and data quality improvements. The participants are expected to have acquired a foundation-level understanding of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server and basic relational modelling concepts. The participants will be introduced to database schemes before being equipped with the design of Dimensions, the design of Facts Table and the implementation of both Dimensions and Facts Table. In addition, data warehouse performance management and working with SQL Server to import and export will be explored. The participants will be introduced to control flow tasks, data source and destination and data flow transformation. Additionally, participants will be introduced to the SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS packages. The participants will be introduced to multidimensional models before being equipped with browsing translation and linked dimensions. In addition, analysis services in data mining and many-to-many revolutions will be explored. Lastly, comparison between tabular and multidimensional solutions, queries using multidimensional expressions and data analysis expressions and configuring and maintaining SQL Server Analysis Services shall be the highlight of the course.
