OUR TRAINERS

1. Associate Professor Dr Mohamed Elsaadany (UTP)

Dr Mohamed Elsaadany is an Associate Professor at University Teknologi PETRONAS (Malaysia) since 2018. Before joining UTP, he served as a Principal in Reservoir Geophysics for Petronas Carigali with the main responsibilities of leading field development plans and exploration prospect evaluation in Malaysia, as well as international concessions. Dr Elsaadany is a well-rounded geo-scientist with 29+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in both Upstream exploration and production. His main skills are play based exploration, portfolio & prospect maturation, near field exploration/development, operational execution, coordination of geophysical/geological input to Field Development Plans, structural analysis/tectonic evolution and seismic interpretation (2D & 3D volume interpretation). He has worked with Shell Egypt Joint Venture, Cairo Egypt in Western Desert and Mediterranean, mud logging and operation in Gulf of Suez, Nile Delta and Western Desert, Egypt. Dr Elsaadany has a MSc and a PhD in Geology, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He is currently teaching Seismic Interpretation, Principles of Stratigraphy and Petroleum Geology for UG in addition to sharing in a Geophysics Course-Work Master Course at Petroleum Geoscience Department.

2. Mr. Alex Tarang (PETRONAS)

Alex Tarang has been working with PETRONAS as a geoscientist for the past 28 years. He has experiences in both exploration and exploitation activities in many geographical locations such as Chad, Sudan, Mozambique, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia basins. Currently he is the Principal Reservoir Geophysicist working for MPM-RDM PETRONAS. His main interest is on the use Seismic and Geophysics Methods for Reservoir Characterization, Monitoring and Management- within the full Field Life Cycle. He holds a MSc degree in Exploration Geophysics from University of Leeds, U.K.
