CONTENT SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
Pumps are used for many applications across many industries and small processes, and household applications. Pumps are a heavy-duty process primary moves used to move different products, including water, chemicals, petroleum, wastewater, oil, sludge, slurry or food. Pumps typically used for industrial purposes include centrifugal pumps, gear pumps and positive displacement pumps. It may say that no industrial plant operates with no pump involvement.
The present course provided knowledge to the technicians, engineers, designers and students at all levels on pumps, from fundamental to the high specific applicationsWHO SHOULD ATTEND?
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Professor Dr Hussain H. Al-Kayiem (UTP)
Dr Hussain H. Al-Kayiem is a Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His current position as Head, Solar Thermal Advanced Research Center STARC, UTP. He completed a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford in 1989. His research interests include renewable energies, multi-phase flow, liquid/liquid separation, renewable energies, and thermo fluids in plants. Dr. Hussain has been teaching solar energy related subjects in many institutes in different countries. He has an excellent research publication data with many books as well.
