CONTENT SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
This course provides an introductory to the fundamental concepts of various pipeline analyses and assessments methods which include stress-based, strain-based, reliability-based and risk-based designs. The course also explains different situations or conditions on the applications of the various methods. Example of actual industry case studies for the application in design & installation, construction as well as pipeline operation phases in pipeline projects will also be shared.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Zahiraniza Mustaffa (UTP)
Ir.
Dr. Zahiraniza Mustaffa is an Associate Professor with a Professional Engineer
title at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Universiti
Teknologi PETRONAS for more than 15 years. She obtained her PhD majoring in
Pipeline Reliability from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands
(2011), Master of Science in Water Resources Engineering, from the University
of Alberta, Canada (2003) and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) in Civil
Engineering from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2000). Dr. Zahira specializes in the field of
pipeline engineering covering the aspects of probabilistic structural
designs. Her research capability in the
pipeline engineering field is portrayed through the cumulative
research grant values of over RM 2 mil. secured from various international,
national and consultancy resources. Dr.
Zahira received numerous research product awards obtained through various
competitions at international and national exhibitions since 2014. Her products have been submitted for
intellectual properties submissions through patent, industrial designs as well
as copyrights. She is currently a committee member of the Women Engineers
Section of the Institute of Engineers (IEM), Malaysia. She is a Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council, UK, Member of Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM), Member of Institute of
Engineer Malaysia (IEM), Member of Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and
Technology (IMarEST) and Member of the American
Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Mohd Nazmi Ali Napiah (PETRONAS GTS)
Mohd Nazmi bin Mohd Ali Napiah is Custodian/Head/Group Technical Authority of Pipeline Eng. from PETRONAS’ Group Technical Solutions with over 20 years’ experience, delivering optimal engineering solutions for key pipeline projects and initiatives. Hands-on and diverse operations and project management experience in the oil and gas industry. Focus efforts on pipeline design and integrity management systems and key business performance improvements. Accomplished professional with track record of success in ensuring high standards of quality and safety while adhering to strict schedules and deadlines. Consistently exceed established targets and performance expectations while maintaining thorough industry knowledge. Promote ongoing operations without service interruptions, along with professional growth of staffs. Proven relationship management skills in developing solid partnerships with all levels of staffs and industry professionals to achieve goals in team-oriented environments. Excellent communication and presentation skills in conveying vital information, project objectives and progress, and final results clearly and effectively.
