CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

This course covers the fundamental concept on the assessment of corrosion in pipeline using probabilistic methods. Details will be given to offshore pipelines which mainly utilizes monitoring using pigging tools.  Several design codes and standards of the offshore pipelines will be used to describe its failure pressure models.  Knowledge on probabilistic methods will be introduced which include random variables, limit state function and probability of failures.  Several case studies will be conducted using a customized cloud-based software.
