CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

Mastering Numerical methods is an important skill for engineers or scientists as most engineering problem involve the development of a mathematical model to represent the important characteristics of the physical system. Manual calculations might be tedious if the problem is complicated, hence knowing how to use tools such as spreadsheet will be very useful and effective to solve tedious numerical problems in your daily tasks.

OUR TRAINERS

1. Dr Kee Kok Eng  (UTP)

Dr Kee Kok Eng is a teaching faculty in Mechanical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) as well as an active core researcher of Centre for Corrosion Research (CCR), specializing in oilfiled corrosion issue, stress corrosion cracking, cooling water chemical corrosion, autoclave test, corrosion inhibitor (CI), materials failure investigation, and multiphase flow. Since 2014, he has been actively involved in a number of industrial consultancy work from upstream oil producers and chemical service providers. He is also authors and co-authors of a number of peer-reviewed journals on corrosion and material science. He is also a corrosion committee member of IMM and international NACE member.

2. Dr William Pao (UTP)

Dr William Pao is a Sarawakian from Borneo Island that decided to live in Ipoh since 2011. He is teaching fourth-year elective courses specializing in Subsea Engineering and Upstream Plant Facilities at Mechanical Engineering Department, the Cluster Leader of Applied Mechanics and Instrumentation and was Adjunct Lecturer coordinator. He has been awarded research contract as Principal Investigator for more than RM1 million from Ministry of Higher Education, Yayasan UTP and industries. He collaborates closely with PETRONAS OPU and industrial partners for UG/PG student projects. Dr Pao is a regular reviewer for Q1/Q2 high impact factor JCR journals, and contributes extensively to these journals himself. He is a registered Chartered Engineer with Engineering Council, UK since 2012, and holding the professional title of MarEng and CMath from UK
