COURSE SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
Membrane is growing rapidly with wide range of applications especially for gas separation. This short course provides a comprehensive information and addresses some aspects of membrane in gas separation including preparation of membrane and analysis of gas permeation properties. Besides, various numerical modelling technique for membrane module would be highlighted during the course. Computational Fluid Dynamics technique would be discussed in detail as one of the emerging techniques used to model the membrane module.
WHO SHOULD JOIN US TO :
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand the available numerical techniques used for membrane module modeling and simulation
Understand the specific method used for membrane module modeling & simulation using computational fluid dynamics technique.
1. Associate Professor Dr Yeong Yin Fong
Dr Lau Kok Keong is currently working as an Associate Professor at Chemical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. His research focus in membrane technology includes numerical modelling of hollow fibre and spiral wound membrane module, molecular dynamics simulation of different types of membranes, multi-scale modelling and process simulation of membrane system, computational fluid dynamics simulation of hollow fibre and spiral wound membrane, etc.
