COURSE SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

Membrane is growing rapidly with wide range of applications especially for gas separation. This short course provides a comprehensive information and addresses some aspects of membrane in gas separation including preparation of membrane and analysis of gas permeation properties. Besides, various numerical modelling technique for membrane module would be highlighted during the course. Computational Fluid Dynamics technique would be discussed in detail as one of the emerging techniques used to model the membrane module.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Introduction to membrane for gas separation.
  • Preparation of membranes and gas permeation analysis.
  • Introduction to numerical technique used in membrane module modeling.
  • Computational fluid dynamics technique for membrane module modeling.

WHO SHOULD JOIN US TO :

  • Technical and non-technical personnel involved in the activities of membrane separation processes and CFD modelling. Specifically, researcher, technical, operations and maintenance personnel who had limited exposure in these areas and require a comprehensive overview of these areas.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the membrane technology in gas separation.
  • Understand the method for preparation of different type of membranes and analysis of gas permeation.
  • Understand the available numerical techniques used for membrane module modeling and simulation

  • Understand the specific method used for membrane module modeling & simulation using computational fluid dynamics technique.
