CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

This program aims to expose the participants with the concepts of data analytics so they will get to experience the concept and application of data analytics for big data using AI and machine learning techniques. With the industrial revolution 4.0 and also with the current pandemic situation, it is expected that many industries will transform their businesses using digital approaches. Thus, having to master the basic knowledge in big data analytics and such is a good foundation for the future workforce to be able to fulfill the requirement from the industries.

The participants also will be introduced with the skills of problem solving using several approaches and techniques in AI and  Machine Learning for big data. This knowledge will definitely able to upskill the future workforces to face the challenges of the new digital world.

  • Understand the Fundamental Big Data Analytics

  • Develop constructive approach to solve business queries with Python
  • Examine big data using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques that allow analysis of large volumes of data in near real time

AI and Automation 

  • Understand the Fundamental of AI and Machine Learning 
  • Understand the various searching techniques and apply these techniques in applications which involve perception, reasoning and learning.
  • Explain the role of agents and how it is related to environment and the way of evaluating it and how agents can act by establishing goals.

OUR TRAINERs

1. Ts Dr Emelia Akashah P. Akhir  (UTP)

Ts Dr Emelia Akashah P. Akhir is a lecturer at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. She is a faculty member of Computer and Information Sciences Department and also attached to Centre for REsearch in Data Science (CeRDaS). She graduated from University of Brighton, UK with a PhD in Computing. She also an alumni of University of Surrey, UK where she obtained her MSc in Information System. Prior to that, she also holds her Diploma and First Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. Her research interest mainly includes but not limited to Data Management, Information and Business alignment, Data Governance, Data Quality and Information System. She is also currently involved data quality and Data Science research. She is a member for UK Association of Information Systems (UKAIS).

2. Ts Dr Norshakirah Bt Abdul Aziz  (UTP)

Ts Dr Norshakirah Bt Abdul Aziz is a Senior Lecturer at the Computer and Information Sciences Department at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Currently, she is a researcher at the UTP Centre of Research in Data Sciences (CeRDaS) and Data Governance Leader at High-Performance Cloud Computing Data Centre (HPCCC). She holds a Diploma in Management Technology, Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (IT), MSc Degree in IT, and a PhD in e-SCM Integration & Collaboration. Also, she has a total of 16 years of experience gained from academic institutions and industry under her belt. Her industry working experience is related to Business Intelligence, E-Business, and IT Project Management. Her research scope covers Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Governance, and Digital Addiction. Besides, she is a qualified Technologist Specialist (Ts), an HRDF Certified Trainer, and a present EXCO Committee Member for Data Science Association, Malaysia and also provided training to all management level for E-Procurement & E-Business short courses. 

3. Dr. Mohd Hilmi Hasan  (UTP)

Dr. Mohd Hilmi Hasan, is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He obtained his Ph.D in Information Technology from UTP in 2017 with a research in the area of artificial intelligence, specifically Interval Type-2 fuzzy. He also graduated with a Master of Information Technology (eScience) from The Australian National University in 2004 and a Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) Information Technology from UTP in 2002. He has been teaching and being an active researcher at UTP since 2004. His research interest covers areas of artificial intelligence and data analytics. He has been appointed as a reviewer for Artificial Intelligence Review Journal (Q2 Journal) and many other international conferences. 

4. Dr Hitham Al-Hussian  (UTP)

Dr Hitham Al-Hussian received his BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Khartoum (UofK), Sudan. He obtained his PhD from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. Following his PhD, he worked as a Post Doctorate Researcher in the High-Performance Cloud Computing Center (HPC3) in UTP. He is currently, a Senior Lecturer in the department of Computer and Information Sciences in UTP and a core member of Centre for Research in Data Science (CERDAS). His main research interests include real-time parallel computing, big data and cloud computing, machine learning and data mining.

5. Associate Professor Dr Jafreezal Jaafar  (UTP)

Jafreezal Jaafar is an Associate Professor and currently the Dean of Faculty Science & Information Technology at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He holds a PhD from University of Edinburgh, UK (2009). His main research areas include Big Data Analytics, Soft Computing and Software Engineering. He has secured a number of research projects from the industry and government agencies. Based on his publication track records he had been appointed as the Chief Editor and reviewer for several journals, and also the Chair, Technical Chair and committee for several International Conferences. He is also active in IEEE Computer society, Malaysia Chapter and has been appointed as the Executive Committee for 2016 and 2017.

6. Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Fadzil Hassan  (UTP)

Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Fadzil Hassan is an alumnus of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) and graduated in 1999 from the Colorado State University, USA with a BSc (cum-laude) in Computer Information Systems. He obtained his MSc in Artificial Intelligence in 2001 and PhD in Informatics in 2007 from the University of Edinburgh, UK. He was actively involved in the curriculum development, teaching and delivery of programming modules focusing on structured and object-oriented event-driven programming tools since 2000. He is currently the Director, Institute of Autonomous Systems (IAS), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). He was the former Dean, Centre for Graduate Studies, UTP (2012 – 2017), and Head, Computer & Information Systems department, UTP (2010 – 2012). He is also an academic program assessor (computing program) for the Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT). He has been involved in authoring more than 100 indexed publications. He is a senior member of IEEE and was an executive committee for the IEEE Computer Society Malaysia in 2018.

7. Associate Professor Dr Izzatdin Abdul Aziz  (UTP)

Izzatdin Abdul Aziz is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head at the Centre for Research in Data Science (CeRDaS) in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), where he focuses on solving complex upstream Oil and Gas (O&G) industry problems from the view point of computer science. He obtained his Ph.D in Information Technology from Deakin University, Australia working in the domain of hydrocarbon exploration. Prior to his Ph.D, Izzatdin earned his Master’s degree in Information Technology specializing in Computer Networks from the University Of Sydney, Australia. Izzatdin has secured and delivered numerous computing-related O&G projects mainly relating to seismic data processing and implementation of workflows for processing hydrocarbon exploration dataset on cloud-based systems. He is working closely with O&G companies in delivering solutions for complex problems such as Offshore O&G pipeline corrosion rate prediction, O&G pipeline corrosion detection, securing data on clouds and designing and implementing Metocean prediction system. Additionally, he is also working on Big Data transmission, security and optimization problems on High Performance Computing Clusters. His research is mainly funded by the Petroleum Research Fund, PETRONAS and The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.

8. Dr. Said Jadid  (UTP)

Dr. Said Jadid, is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). He holds a Degree in Computer Science from Moi University (2009), Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2012) and a PhD in Information Technology from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2016). His research interests are in the areas of Machine Learning (Supervised Learning) and Data Analytics (Predictive and Streaming Analytics). He has been appointed as a reviewer for Artificial Intelligence Review (Q2 Journal) and a technical committee for various international conferences. .
