CONTENT SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
Mobile IoT applications are increasing of importance due to a strong drive in the rise of IoT for system integrations, industries automation, drone technology, and various smart mobile control and monitoring use cases. This 2-day hands-on training workshop is to expose the participants to the skills in developing mobile IoT applications using the Android based MagnetCode IDE. Emphasis is on the coding of mobile IoT applications on the Carrot hardware board and to test the IoT codes in the physical system and in the mobile simulator. It covers core essentials in programming of embedded devices for IoT use cases, controlling and monitoring of sensors/actuators, data processing, and data presentation. Prerequisite is having some essential basic skill in structured programming and participants are to come with Android smartphones to attend this course.

- Do coding and circuit simulation using MagnetCode app.
- Quickly develop feasible m-IoT prototypes.
- Simulate PoC for m-IoT projects.

OUR TRAINER
1. Associate Professor Ts Dr Low Tang Jung (UTP)
AP Ts Dr. Tang Jung, Low obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer technology from Teesside University (UK 1989), MSc IT from National University Malaysia (2001), and PhD IT from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (Malaysia 2012). Dr. Low has been in the academic line for more than 30 years involving various engineering and ICT courses. He is currently an Assoc. Prof. in UTP Computer and Information Sciences Department. His research interests include wireless sensor network, embedded systems, and Smart IoT. Some of his current R&D includes blockchain consensus model and IoT applications.
