COURSE SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

The course will introduce the participants on how to develop a green oil field for shallow water case technically and economically. The training is assumed to begin soon after the handover of static modelling by the subsurface team. A subtle introductory explanation can be given for static model construction as well.  The  core  training  begins  on  locating  sweet spots or well placement in a static model and converting the model into dynamic  model  by  upscaling,  distributing  SCAL  Properties  and initialization. The coverage extends to drilling engineering for well construction with anti-collision consideration and production engineering for nodal analysis. The scope of petroleum engineering with production sharing contract (PSC) and time value of money are included. The surface facilities modelling will be included as well.

  • Brief Introductory on Formation Evaluation and Static Modelling.
  • Conversion of Static Model to Dynamic Model and well placement determination.
  • Construction of well trajectory.

1. Mr Juhairi Aris bin Muhamad Shuhili  (UTP)

Graduated Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (First Class – CGPA 3.81) in 2013 and Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Curtin University (Good Standing -CWA 93.33%). Joined Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) as Trainee Lecturer in 2013 before pursuing Master study and rejoined upon completion in 2015.  5 years’ experience since then where involved in teaching courses such as Reservoir Modelling and Simulation (undergraduate and master) and Field Development Plan (Supervision). Supervised teams who championed 3 international competition on Plan of Development (2017, 2019, and 2020) at Institute Technology of Bandung. Member of FDP Committee of Petroleum engineering Department. However, the trainer has no industry experience on Field Development or Planning at all.
