OUR TRAINERS

1. Associate Professor Dr. Satirenjit K Johl (UTP)

Associate Professor Dr. Satirenjit K Johl has been in the academic, research & consultancy field since 1992. She is currently with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Prior to that she was with Universiti Utara Malaysia. Dr. Johl has also served the corporate sector, namely IBM, Boustead Holdings and Malaysian Professional Centre. She obtained her Doctorate in Philosophy (Business) from University of Nottingham, U.K and Master’s in Human Resource Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia. She is also a certified trainer from the Institute of Personnel and Development, U.K. She has conducted several training programs for multinational companies i.e. IBM, Boustead Holdings and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in the areas of Quality, Entrepreneurship and Human Resource. She has received several awards from International bodies for Best Dissertation awarded by British Aerospace and Loughborough University, U.K. She has received the Hariram Jayaran special award and Gold award in the 23rd International Invention Innovation & Technology Exhibition. 

2. Associate Professor Dr. Poon Wai Ching (UTP)

POON Wai Ching is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). Before joining UTP, she worked at Monash University Malaysia. Her research interests are applied economics, business economics, financial economics, sustainable development and education. Her research excellence and impact have been recognized by RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) as the top 25% of economists in Malaysia. She contributes to the Malaysian Finance Association, MFA (Honorary Secretary), Cogent Economics and Finance (Editor), Corporate Governance: An International Review and Management and Organization Review (Editorial Boards).

She has published in A*/A-ranked or Q1-ranked mainstream and multidisciplinary journals, such as Energy Economics, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, International Review of Finance, Scientometrics, International Business Review, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, etc.

She has established an international academic track record and well-established research collaboration with universities and research institutes nationally and internationally. She has secured over MYR 2.5 million competitive external grants from 2011-2020 from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Global Challenges Research Fund (UK), Monash_ASEAN Sustainable Development Grant Scheme, and Research Institute for Humanity & Nature (Japan).

Her expertise as a researcher of repute is valued by the academic and professional community, as evidenced by invitations to serve as a guest speaker to regularly speak in symposiums nationally and regionally. Besides, she is a subject matter expert for professional bodies (e.g., MFA; Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia). She was a Visiting Scholar in Finland, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan.

She has experience in supervising master’s and PhD to completion. Some PhD students received awards in competitions, colloquiums, and/or conferences.

She is the recipient of several awards, including Pro-Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, Pro-Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research, Teaching Award for Outstanding Unit Evaluations.

Her research outputs have enriched businesses. She has given expert opinions to the media, such as in MalaysiaKini, The Sun Daily, The Star, The Business Times, SinChew, China Press, and TV programs (Majalah 3) in TV3.


3. Associate Professor Dr. Ahmad Shahrul Nizam Bin Isha (UTP)

AP Dr Ahmad Shahrul Nizam Isa is the Centre for Social Innovation (COSI), UTP. His area of expertise is in Occupational Health Psychology focuses on safety culture, behavioral based safety, human fatigue, and stress management. He is a member of European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology. Before becoming an academia, he worked with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) for thirteen years and served in a various department and institution under the ministry. Apart from his academic and research work, Dr Nizam is a consultant for a project related to his area of expertise and actively engaged in team dynamic facilitation

4. Associate Professor Dr. Hasbullah Asari (UTP)

Dr Hasbullah Ashari current position as Associate Professor, Management & Humanities Department,Universiti Teknologi Petronas. He had academic qualification in Ph.D. (Manufacturing Engineering) from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM), MSc Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Warwick University, United Kingdom and B.Sc. in Industrial Technology from Eastern Illinois University, USA.

Dr Hasbullah Ashari expertise in Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management and Operations System Design. He had professional membership with Industrial Engineering & Operations Management (IEOM) Society and Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM)
