INTRODUCTION
The fundamental understanding of reservoir fluid properties and phase behavior is important to assist the participants in estimating hydrocarbon in place and reserves, developing field development plan for hydrocarbon resources and simulating oil and gas reservoirs with commercial software.
This course is designed to introduce the participants basic understanding of reservoir fluid properties and PVT phase behavior as related to oil and gas industry. Initially the coverage will focus on thermodynamic properties and phase behavior of crude oil and natural gas. This is followed by reservoir fluids sampling, PVT laboratory experiments and PVT reports analysis and interpretation. Practical and hands-on exercises will be given to help participants enhance their understanding of PVT experiments and reports. Coverage of advanced fluids characterization including equations of state and plus fraction characterization equips the participants with the knowledge to perform reservoir fluids modeling. By the end of the course, participants will be able to relate PVT report with corresponding reservoir fluids behavior in order to ask the right questions and make informed decisions relating to petroleum reservoir fluids.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
1. Ts Dr Iskandar Dzulkarnain (UTP)
Ts. Dr. Iskandar Dzulkarnain is a faculty member in the Petroleum Engineering Department and currently Head of Centre of Research for Enhanced Oil Recovery (COREOR), one of the research center under Institute of Hydrocarbon Recovery, UTP focusing on studies related to subsurface dynamics for hydrocarbon recovery and geo-sequestration. He obtained his Ph.D in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU), USA in 2018 and prior to that graduated with MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the joint Heriot-Watt and UTP program (2010) and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UTP in 2007. He has experience teaching reservoir engineering related courses and conducting research and consultancy projects related to EOR, PVT testing, and reservoir production enhancement in UTP.
2. Dr Nur Asyraf Md Akhir (UTP)
Nur Asyraf Md Akhir is currently working as a lecturer and researcher at Petroleum Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Perak, Malaysia. She attained her PhD in Petroleum Engineering from UTP. Her PhD research area was on the usage of sacrificial agent in reducing surfactant adsorption for Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR). She completed her MSc in Petroleum Engineering from joint UTP-Heriot-Watt University and BEng in Chemical Engineering from UTP. She has 8 years of experience in teaching and research. She has completed a few internal, national, and industrial research projects on the nanoparticles-foam, chemical-based chemical for conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Her research interests are in chemical-based enhanced/improved oil recovery, adsorption study, and chemical sand consolidation.
