INTRODUCTION
This course covers on the fundamental of floating offshore structures for oil and gas field development. Floating offshore structures are the complex structures located offshore that accommodate the facilities and equipment to drill, extract and process oil and natural gases. This course will discuss about the important mechanics and design principles for these structures, from the fundamental aspects. In addition, the course will introduce different types of the floating offshore structures. The course will ensure the participants are able to familiarize with the components and the functionality of these structures to be able to perform the concept selection for the oil and gas field development.

1. Ts Dr Ng Cheng Yee (UTP)
Dr Ng Cheng Yee received her PhD in Civil Engineering (Offshore structures) from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2014, MSc in Civil Engineering (Offshore Structures) in 2010 and BEng in Civil Engineering in 2007 from the same university. She is a member of Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), UK, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM). She’s experts in offshore engineering, floating offshore structures, Offshore renewable energy, wave-structure interaction, wave hydrodynamics & directional waves.
