COURSE SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

This course will introduce electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique and present how it can be used for corrosion investigation. Details regarding correct method of data acquisition and analysis, along with pitfalls to watch out for, will be presented.

  • Apply Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy to study corrosion of various materials in different environment.

1. Dr Saeid Kakooei 

Dr Saeid Kakooei is a senior lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department and head of Centre for Corrosion Research at University Technology PETRONAS. He have 17 years of metallurgical, materials, Electrochemical / corrosion engineering, and failure analysis experiences.



2. Dr Mazli Mustapha

Dr. Mazli Mustapha is a senior lecturer with highly effective trainer for protective coating for corrosion protection with 20 years experience. He has a great success record in the material engineering related filed. He has strong interest in corrosion science and engineering matters. He is currently a Professional Graduate

Member of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, UK. He is also the member of Institute of Material Malaysia and Committee Member of the Corrosion Committee of IMM during the 2018 – 2020 term. His current research is on the development of fibre metal laminate structure for oil and gas application.
