CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

The course addresses a broad array of vital topics related to Concept Selection, Wave Hydrodynamics and Stability Analysis of Floating Solar System.  This course covers the development of the fundamental equations of fluid mechanics and their applications for marine hydrodynamics (floating solar system) and the application of these principles to the solution of engineering problems. Topics include the principles of conservation of mass, momentum and energy, lift and drag forces, laminar and turbulent flows, dimensional analysis, added mass, and linear surface waves, including wave velocities, propagation phenomena, and descriptions of real sea waves. Wave forces on structures are treated in the context of design and basic seakeeping analysis of floating offshore solar farms.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Topic 1: Introduction to New Energy & concept selection of Floating Solar system
  • Topic 2:  Physics and mathematics involved in the description of regular and irregular water waves.
  • Topic 3: Fundamental of Wave structures Interactions.
  • Topic 4: Global hydrodynamic response analysis, transfer loads, and stability analysis of floating solar systems..

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • To understand new energy, floating solar farms systems and the rational for the appropriate concept selections for calm water and offshore applications.
  • Understand and apply the physics and mathematics involved in the description of regular and irregular water waves. This knowledge is part of detailed design and analyses of Floating solar farms.
  • To Learn how to perform global hydrodynamic response analysis, transfer loads to structural analysis, and stability analysis of floating solar units.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Anyone interested in structural integrity - offshore
  • Managers and Executives overseeing offshore assets
  • Engineers, Researchers & Consultants Students – postgraduate and undergraduate
  • Civil Engineers
  • Structural Engineers
  • New Energy Engineers
