COURSE SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
Parallel Computing with GPU is a course offered by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS’ Centre for Advanced and Professional Education (CAPE) either in online mode or face-to-face classroom. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of parallel computing using the CUDA parallel computing platform and programming model. This intermediate class is for developers, scientists, engineers, researchers, and students who want to learn about GPU programming, algorithms, and optimization techniques. Join this class to learn new skills, enhance your career opportunities, and most importantly have fun.

1. Associate Professor Dr Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin
Associate Professor Dr Fawnizu is with the Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Petronas for 21 years. He has held various leadership roles such as Deputy Head of E&E department (2013-2014) and Director of Strategic Alliance Office (2014-2018). Dr Fawnizu was also a Visiting Professor at Intel Microelectronics (Malaysia) in 2012-2013 and Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT-UTM) in 2020.
He has published more than 120 research papers and currently actively researching on digital circuit architectures, fault tolerant systems and new devices. He has taught courses on distributed and parallel computing, digital electronics, digital systems design, VLSI system design and co-authored a book titled CPU-based Application Transformation to CUDA, which was published in 2012.
Dr Fawnizu graduated from University of Minnesota (USA) in 1999, University of New South Wales (MSc-2001) and Nara Institute of Science and Technology (PhD-2008). He is currently the Chair of IEEE Malaysia Section (2019 & 2020). He has been an active volunteer with IEEE Malaysia since 2009. Between 2009 and 2014, he was in the executive committee of IEEE Circuits & Systems holding various portfolios until he was elected chair in 2013. Since 2015, he has been in IEEE Malaysia executive committee until he was elected chair in 2019. As a recognition from the IEEE leadership, he was awarded the 2018 Region 10 (Asia Pacific) Outstanding Volunteer Award.
