CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

This program aims to upskill user’s knowledge and skills related to Turbomachinery and Artificial Intelligence operation and software and hardware development.  This short course provides hands-on experience in building scalable Artificial Intelligence product for IR4.0 environment in Turbomachinery application. This includes the understanding of Artificial Intelligence algorithms, familiarization with Turbomachinery operation, building own software and hardware and finally integrating whole system into a final product. It aims to increase users’ confidence to apply the AI knowledge by providing the structured guidelines which applicable to all fields. By the end of the course, participants will be able to develop the Artificial Intelligence software, Artificial Intelligence hardware, whole system integration by applying fundamental knowledge for IR4.0 scalable product.

1. Dr Madiah Binti Omar (UTP)

MADIAH OMAR is a lecturer under Chemical Engineering Department at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Seri Iskandar, Perak, Malaysia. She is a classy IR4.0 academician with over 6 years’ experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Modelling, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Twin, Hardware Integration and System Engineering for Rotating Equipment and Chemical Processes Application. Driven to bridging the academia and industry together, her work involves multiple industrial collaborators and experienced in machine learning deployment to the field. Her current interest in IR4.0 focuses on realization of brilliant AI ideas into products. 

2. Associate Professor Ir. Dr Rosdiazli (UTP)

ROSDIAZLI B. IBRAHIM is an Associate Professor under Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Seri Iskandar, Perak, Malaysia. He is an experienced academician with over 25 years involvement in Advanced Process Control, Automation, Intelligent System, Wireless Technology and Robotics. He secured multiple fundamental research grants, prototype grant and industrial consultancy grant for his work. He owns 5 patents to date and his current interest includes Predictive Maintenance, Artificial Intelligence and System Engineering for various application.

3. Associate Professor Ir Dr Nursyarizal Mohd Nor (UTP)

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nursyarizal Mohd Nor received his PhD. in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Perak, Malaysia, in 2009. He is currently a committed Associate Professors with over 20 years of research and academic experience as a part of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in UTP during which he has developed numerous projects on national and international level in frames of Electrical Protection Box, Portable Thermoelectric Generator, Health Monitoring System, Portable Solar Generator and etc. His research interests include specialization in Power Economics Operation and Control, Power System Analysis as well as Power System State Estimation area in which he has successfully published more than 100 research publications and articles in peer reviewed international journals, workshops, conferences and symposiums, including book chapters published by since the year 2009. He also receiving the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Electrical, Control and Computer Engineering conference in 2009 and 9th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference in 2015. He had actively involved in reviewing paper for many known conferences and journal. In year 2012, he has been qualified as a Registered Professional Engineer from the Board of Engineers Malaysia for his specialization. He is currently an active member of the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) where he holds the task to advise and assist the university as colleagues in order to identify whether the programme(s) provides engineering education or a training programme that merits to be classified as technology, which is focusing on the breadth and depth of the programme(s), the content, delivery and assessment. Currently, he was a Corporate Member for Institute Engineers Malaysia, member of Board of Engineers Malaysia and member of IEEE Power & Energy Society.
