CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

The increasing awareness of the Blockchain technology has gained interest of business people and industrialists in recent years due to its security and transparency features. Hence several business enterprises are keen on using blockchain technology for value creation and management. Evidence is available to show that blockchain enables value management through Distributed Product Innovation, Controlled Customer Intimacy, Shared Operational Efficiency and Value Chain. The effective use of blockchain in business operations and marketing help the organizations in creating value for their customers and other stakeholders involved in the service ecosystem.

Leading firms around the world have recognized the importance of changing business thinking from goods-domiant to service-domiant where emphasize is on the value creation instead of selling. To accomplish the objective of value creation, blockchain technology can help in bringvarious parties and systems together where everyone plays  a role as active partner and co-create value for all. 

We have designed this course to provide an understanding of the blockchain technology to facilitate its use in business operations, marketing function and supply chain management with an ultimat aim of co-creating value for all. Change the businss lens from ‘Goods-dominant Thinking’ to ‘Service-dominant Thinking’

  • What is service thinking? Why we need service thinking?
  • How potential value is different from real value? Who offer value, who create value and who destroy value?
  • How to optimize resources to co-create value for win-win solution.

Leveraging Blockchain for Business Value Management

OUR TRAINERS







1. Dr Amjad Shamim (UTP)

Dr. Amjad Shamim is a Programme Manager for MBA-Energy Management and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. He earned his Ph.D in Management (emphasis on value co-creation and Service-dominant logic) from UTP in 2016. Earlier he holds MS and MBA in Marketing.

He has over 12 years of working experience in industry, academia, and research. He has conducted several trainings for professionals and researchers on value co-creation, service-thinking,  and structural equation modeling. 

Dr. Amjad received Liam Glyn Research Scholarship award from American Marketing Association – Special Service Interest Group (AMA-SERVISG) in 2019 and UTP Brand Advocate Award in 2020. He has published 30+ artilces in leading marketing and management journals in addition to 2 books. He secured 7 research grants amount to USD 90K from national and international funding bodies. His research  interest includes: service-dominant logic, value co-creation and agile marketing


2. Associate Professor Dr Manzoor Hasmani (UTP)

Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Hashmani is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He earned his M.E in 1997 and Ph.D. in 1999 from Nara Advanced Institute of Science & Technology, Nara (Japan). He has authored and co-authored more than 100 research articles published in various journals and conferences of international repute. He has also worked as lead research and development person in a reputable Japanese company for five years. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, executive committee member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society's, member of Society of Engineering Education Malaysia, member of Malaysia Board of Technology, and member of Pakistan Engineering Council. His current research areas of interest include blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning and soft computing for optimization
