CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

Construction site management and supervision is the culmination of events in a project’s lifecycle which encompasses feasibility, preliminary design, advanced design, procurement and construction. Job sites have to be managed with the same degree of expertise and to the same standards as other core business activities. This course will feature the importance and relevance of efficient and practical strategies necessary to achieve competency for professionals involved in Construction Site Management with BIM application.

The main aim of the training is to enhance participants’ Job sites skills like communication management skills. The technical aspects include digital technologies of BIM. Hence the course will equip the participants with the required skills to successful construction site management.

Introduction to construction sites management:
  • Introduction to construction management
  • Temporary buildings, utilities and services
  • Kick-off Meeting
  •  Activating site management efficiency

  • Hands-on activities and conclusion

Scheduling of Work and Monitoring of Work:

  • Master Schedule: Bar chart, Network logic,
  • Communicating and Updating Schedules
  • Project Control Cycle
  • Information Gathering
  • Supervision and Inspection
Construction sites reports and progress measurements:

  • Reporting types in construction sites.
  • Measurement sheets of construction works.
  • Progress mentoring in construction site.
  • Construction site controlling.

BIM role in construction sites:

  • Introduction to BIM
  • Construction site modeling
  • BIM in construction site
  • Hands-on activities and conclusion
BIM updates for construction sites:

  • How to update the project in BIM
  • Master Schedule: Bar chart, Network logic,
  • Tracking Time, Cost
BIM for as-built final reporting:

  • Project final reporting
  • As built drawing for construction project
  • Modeling of as built drawing and final reporting.


OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess and control work methods, resources, and systems to meet site works requirements.
  • Contribute to controlling work quality, progress, and reporting.
  • Develop productive working relationships, manage changes using BIM tools.
  • Learn updates for construction sites and as-built final reporting using BIM.

1. Dr Wesam Salah Alaloul (UTP)

Dr Wesam Alaloul is a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas and was a certified project manager in Palestine-Gaza. he has conducted several trainings related to project management and construction. His research interests in construction management, construction materials, offshore structures decommissioning, and lifecycle cost assessment. He is a certified trainer for Construction costing and sustainability issues. He has published more than 45 papers in construction management, BIM, and materials in several ISI/Scopes journals and international conferences.   He was a member of the evaluation committee for development and relief projects proposals. He participated as a member of the steering committee in the sustainable urban planning of new cities in Palestine.
