CONTENT SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

Well completion design is a crucial task and one of important activities to be considered during the life of hydrocarbon wells. The type of well completion and the components to be considered for the well completion are highly affected by the reservoir characteristics as well as the well productivity. The inflow and outflow performance relationships are, therefore, key factors in conducting a proper design of well completion. If the well is artificially lifted or undergone well stimulation, then additional thoughts are to be considered as part of the well completion design. Different sand control techniques are to be considered when dealing with unconsolidated wells, where sand production is expected. In this course, the trainees will go through a comprehensive contents leading them to fully understand and be able to conduct a proper well completion design.

COURSE CONTENT
  • Introduction to well completion techniques.
  • Well deliverability concepts.
  • Inflow performance relationship.
  • Vertical lift performance.
  • Formation damage.
  • Well stimulation techniques.
  • Artificial lift methods.
  • Sand control and management.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the functions of well completion components and equipment.
  • Discuss the basic concepts of production system performance during natural flow and artificial lift.
  • Describe different types of well completions methods and evaluate their effects on production performance and well integrity.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Anyone interested in Well Completion
