INTRODUCTION
The course is about asset integrity management, focusing on cost effective management approach. Part of the course structure is to identify events that triggers integrity assessments by looking at Fitness for purpose concepts in Integrity management domain, Inspection, Maintenance and Repair for maintaining the integrity of assets, load statistical analysis consideration in assessment of existing assets, Ultimate strength and Reliability analysis for integrity assessment and finally on the Acceptance criteria to be considered in ensuring the integrity of the assets. Also, in managing the integrity of the life extended assets, selection of the suitable management strategy, for operational, maintenance, strengthening as well as for decommissioning exercise; among the wide range of potential options adopted or suggested in challenging decision making that involves several factors; among them technical, economic, contractual, legal, and organizational complexities will be looked into. To enable a better decision support, analytical tools and methods capable of evaluating and prioritizing near or towards-end-of-life strategies with respect to associated costs and quantifiable benefits will be outlined.

Dr. Mubarak Wahab, P.E, PhD, is a multifaceted, self-driven and highly motivated engineer with over 20 years of experience, a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from University of Melbourne, Australia and a PhD degree from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. In the 20 over years of experience, 6 solid years of progressively responsible supervisory, managerial, and business development on construction and design projects. Academic since 2007, with research interest into structures and materials; onshore and offshore structural steel: integrity and reliability domain. To date has completed and currently managing numerous research projects (valued at RM1 million) and industry projects (Valued at RM 80 million) and published more than 40 research papers.
